Can foreigners legally get married in Gibraltar?
Yes. Gibraltar is open to non-residents and international couples, and marriages performed here are legally recognised worldwide.
How long do we need to stay in Gibraltar before the wedding?
There is no long residency requirement. You must stay at least one night in Gibraltar immediately before or after your ceremony, but most couples choose to arrive 2–3 days earlier to complete paperwork comfortably.
Do we need witnesses for a Gibraltar wedding?
Yes. Two adult witnesses are required for all civil ceremonies. They must understand English. The registry does not provide witnesses. Should you have booked our packages, you do not have to worry, all is included.
Can we get married outside the registry office?
Yes. Civil ceremonies can take place at the registry office or at approved venues such as hotels, garden, and historic locations. Outdoor ceremonies are subject to weather conditions and registry approval.
Is a Gibraltar wedding recognised in our home country?
Yes. A Gibraltar marriage certificate is legally recognised internationally. Some countries may require an official copy or apostille, which is already included in our packages.
